Vrijspraak, student party of Magister JFT, is one of the student parties of Tilburg Law School and has been having the best interests of all Law and Public Administration students at heart for 31 years already. Within the faculty there are two different participatory bodies in which Vrijspraak operates and represents the students: the Faculty Council and the Program Committees. In addition, Vrijspraak has a Complaint Box Committee that deals with all problems, questions and ideas that students raise.
Vrijspraak’s aim is to bundle all facets of student representation in order to make it function as strongly as possible. Vrijspraak mainly does this through its monthly Open Party Meetings. During these meetings, the members of the Faculty Council, the members of the Program Committees, the Vrijspraak Board and the Student Advisors come together to discuss all kinds of matters that affect education or the faculty. In addition, in the second part of the meetings, internal, party-related matters are discussed. Everyone is welcome during the OPM’s and there is always an opportunity to voice your own point of view. It’s also an opportunity to ask questions and raise concerns.
In addition to participatory activities, Vrijspraak also organises various social activities throughout the year for the party members exclusively and/or for all members of Magister JFT. For example, every academic year is always well ushered in with the Huifkarcantus and the Vrijspraakweekend, so that the party members can get to know each other well. Next to that, Vrijspraak organises an annual beer cantus, New Year’s Dinner, an alumni activity, the Legal Dictation and the Best Teacher Elections. Furthermore, each OPM is concluded with a nice drink at Bruin Kafee.
