In summer 2018, the THE Committee will be traveling to Nepal! Would you like to join is? If so, please continue reading.
Who are we?
In 2013, Magister JFT established the Travel Help and Educate (THE) Committee to promote social justice. The THE Committee organizes a 3-week trip to a third world country outside of Europe. During this trip, students will have the opportunity to participate in charity work while exploring the modern Nepali landscape. In the previous years, THE has traveled to Sri Lanka and Indonesia.
What are we going to do?
In 2015 Nepal was devastated by two massive earthquakes, destroying more than 600,000 homes and leaving hundreds of thousands of survivors homeless. We will be traveling to Kathmandu to engage in volunteer relief efforts during ten to twelve days. Guided by Friends of Volunteers in Nepal, we will participate in after school mentorship, classroom decoration and teaching activities. During the second half of our journey, we will explore and discover the culture of Nepal. Moreover, we will learn about local customs and values, specifically about how they relate to our judicial studies.
When will we visit?
Our journey will take place during the summer of 2018. Both examination and re-examination periods have been taken into consideration. Therefore, we will depart in the week of the 16th of July 2018 and we will return in the week of the 6th of August 2018.
